Workshops & events
Help us make bowls for SAMMinistries' Empty Bowls event. This is our first and posssibly only Bowl-a-Thon for the 2026 Empty Bowls Project which takes place in November. We will have a bowl making day on Saturday, August 1 from 10-4, and a trimming day on Sunday the 2nd 10-2. Location: UTSA Main Campus Sculpture & Ceramics bldg., San Antonio, TX. Refreshments will be provided by SAPG.
We need bowl makers to sign-up and make bowls on Saturday Aug 1. For day 2 trimming we will have a separate sign-up sheet on Saturday at the Bowl-a-Thon. If you have any questions please send us an email at: sanantoniopottersguild@gmail.com
Hand-builders and wheel people are all welcome. You need to bring your own tools and whatever you need to make your bowls, and also an apron & towel. Clay is provided by the SAPG, workspace, wheels and handbuilding space are provided by UTSA Ceramics.

Join us as we learn about making adorable Fairy Houses with ceramic artist Chelsea Moon of @dellastarart_ She will show us how she makes her whimsical pieces and guide us in creating our own. We will start with clay slabs and embellish with coils, pinching, appliques and more. " Learn and explore the little lives of fairies, how they build homes! We will explore detail and technique, really diving into what makes these magical creatures use from our world to create their tiny homes
We will have templates to get started with. Your creativity will take these functional pieces to the next level. Clay will be provided. Bring your favorite hand building tools, small cookie cutters(if you have them), stamps/texture rollers(if you have them), apron, hand towel, etc. Also, bring a container/ware board to take your fairy house home. Space is limited and you may bring a guest for a $10 fee.
